Food and Beverage Services
Gain a general knowledge of the key terminology and best practices used in customer service, food safety, management principles and essential cooking techniques in Alabama’s hospitality industry. Become familiar with laws and regulations that affect food and beverage business services and facilities management, as well as how to manage inventory regarding labor and food costs. Professional soft skills such as how to answer phone calls, oversee hotel and kitchen staff, and inspect dining and serving areas is also within this training.
Accommodations and Recreational Services
Begin a strong foundation in hotel services by learning to manage, market and serve well in the hotel and recreation industry. Explore all angles of customer service including how to effectively motivate hotel employees, standardize professional conduct, and minimize customer service issues. Learn more about the laws and regulations that affect accommodations and recreational services within facilities management, including protocol regarding housekeeping and janitorial staff.
Facilities Maintenance
Gather a broad introduction to routine inspection, maintenance and repair training for successful grounds operations. Develop a working knowledge on how to diagnose mechanical problems, order parts and supplies, and perform general cleaning of buildings or properties. Explore quality customer service strategies that are important when asking questions, building reports and following up with customers on maintenance work.
